balloon.paradeNow boaters can join more than 100,000 shoreline spectators scheduled to attend the Port of San Diego’s Big Balloon Parade this year, with boaters gaining the advantage of front-row views along North Harbor Drive. Presented by the San Diego Credit Union and Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, the event will feature its usual cast of floating cartoon giants, marching bands and decorated floats. After the parade, families can enjoy the Amtrak and Bank of America Family Festival, featuring activities, games and live entertainment along the Broadway Pier. The parade is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. in downtown San Diego and will be televised on Channel 4 in the San Diego area. The national broadcast will be on the USA Network on Jan. 1, starting at 9 a.m. For those wishing to stay on dry land, grandstand tickets are available starting at $15 for early registration; $20 after Dec. 14.
